I'm a nebulous (neo)pagan as far as religious bent goes. I was raised a Christian, but felt betrayed by a homophobic friend while in high school and dropped it there.
I'm twice as old as I was then, and things have gotten intensely irritating.
I always dug Athena as a personal goddess. Did what I could to be a good little, but to no avail. I never seemed to get much from her.
A few years ago, I was working with a friend who was frankly faaaar too unguarded in magical practice. One day, a woman appears to her, half-corpse, and told her I needed to get my shit together.
It was Hel Half-Dead. And she had decided that, nah, bitch, this Ainsel is mine.
And I don't know if you've worked with Hel before. She's not what I would call a hands-on boss. But she still gets irritated with me. Because she wants me to do... something? But fuck if I know what. And she gets mad at me for not doing it. And I'm like "well, what do you want me to do?" "Work." "What work?" "That work." "How do I do it?" "You do it."
I've had a particularly bad run of luck this last 4 months. Lost my job (a friend had brought a fucking KNIFE to work without thinking, and had left a conversation we had had open on his computer where we complained about a coworker, and because I had had a warning involving this coworker already, I got fired) and home (couldn't find a job that would afford me the money to make payments on my mortgage anymore), and now my car is totaled after hitting, I shit you not, a lawn chair. In the road. On the highway.
And I get the feeling my luck won't improve until I do whatever the fuck it is Hel wants me to do. But I don't know what that is, exactly. So, here I am, trying to get through my last semester of college, get a decent paying job, buy a new car, save back up money to get my shit back on track, and still trying to guess what it is I'm not doing right.
My head fucking hurts. All the time.
